Merge My Accounts

 Purpose

The purpose of Merge My Accounts is to give the user the ability to move the privileges of their other logins to the current login they are signed in as.  When this is complete, clicking on one of the Applications, will show the organizations from all logins the user chose to merge.

 Usage

When first accessing the Merge My Accounts screen, the privileges associated to the active login will be displayed.  To merge other accounts to which a user has access, enter the other account's Organization Code, Username, and Password and then click on Merge button.  If the user does not enter all three required fields, the cursor will be placed in the first omitted field.

A successful merge will show the additional organizations and display the 'accounts merged' message in the upper right part of the screen. Now the user can login the VIIS Portal using any one of the listed organization's codes with the current username and password.

No match was found on that Organization Code, Username, and Password combination.

Enter a valid combination.

Note: Three invalid combinations will lock the current account and immediately log out the current user.  The user must contact their administrator to unlock it.

Organization Code is a required field.

Enter an organization code.

Note: The cursor will be placed in the organization field and the password will be removed.

Username is a required field.

Enter a username.

Note: The cursor will be placed in the username field and the password will be removed.

Password is a required field.

Enter a password.

Note: The cursor will be placed in the password field.

You can not merge a user account to itself.

The account information entered is the same as the active user.

Note: The cursor will be placed in the password field and the password will be removed.

Unable to merge these accounts due to different roles for the same application and organization.

Contact your administrator.

Note: The administrator must make both accounts use the same role before the user can perform a merge.  After the merge the administrator can change the role back, if desired.

Unable to merge these accounts due to Username of 'x' already being used for organization 'y'.

Please contact the VIIS Help Desk.

Note: Username of 'x' is the current username.  Organization 'y' is one of the organizations which the entered account information has access.   This would cause two people in the same organization to have the same username.  Therefore, it needs to be resolved manually.
